My computer died after very nearly completing a project for ESPN...! Good news is I managed to get it to the client, bad news is my computer suffered the consequeneces.
But as far as life and death goes... this will not be the first bit to technology to fail me... and it won't be the last.
NOW... thankfully, the REALLY important stuff was backed up... but there was a lot that wasn't and that is pretty much all GONE.
BUT... i got other things to smile about so my attitude literally is whatevs!Shit happens. You can cry about or move on with your life.
I'm gonna invest in a bigger better system anyways.
All this to say that I have been a little preoccupied of late and haven't really had the chance to hit the blog.
SOORRRYYY!
But we can all raise a glass to President Barack Obama... finally!
AND... lastly, there is plenty coming up that we will tell you ALL about... events, websites, changes to the blog etc.
Stay posted snitches!!
LOVE YOU...
COCO
PS - I am currently trying to run a business from a backwards ass PC. As far a technology goes, this couldn't get any worse in my line of work.
PPS - See what I'm talking bout with PC's - it won't even follow the formatting I did for this entry... that's why it looks like a big jumbled mess!!! Sorry bout that. :(
During the Summer of 07' (wow... that seems like ions ago)... Melly and I plus a dear friend who will go unnamed took a road trip down SOUTH.
As some of you know, Mel is from South Carolina, and she is about to go back for the first time in a LONG time... I think since we were there nearly a year and a half ago.
SO - we thought it would be nice, since we are complete hoarders of images, to share some of the photographs we took during that trip.
We were thinking of saving these (among the gazillion others no one has ever seen) for the website... but what difference does it make if we are sharing them with YOU!!
All our readers should be the first to see them!
Hope you likey.....
PS - If you have a moment... seriously google South of the Border. It felt like the entire trip we were driving down an endless highway, across countless states, all in an epic preparation for the auspicious (and fully functioning) ghost town....
And when we got there... what did we find. Hmmm... places like Pedro's AfricaShop....
Anyone see anything wrong with that.... ???????
Maybe we're just overly sensitive... LOL.
Much love.

Melly is off tomorrow so check back for more photos.
Meanwhile... I'm gonna enjoy the last part of the holiday, stay in for a change and watch a movie. Maybe, if I am REALLY lucky... I can get to sleep before 8AM!
It's been a long long minute since the RUB & URB PARTIES... so it is kind of irrelevant to post them here now. But we will post them up on our flickr and our facebook page so you can CHECK EM OUT if you so desire.
Now we will deal with the antics that kept us out till 8AM on a sunday morning on some party till the break of dawn then hit the diner and have chicken fingers for breakfast type shh***t.
It was RIDUNKULOUS - pardon our poor English, but when you get to a shindig at 2:30AM and it is just kicking off... and you all party till the daylight in a dark warehouse i.e. the secret headquarters, with a busted toilet and drinks that hit like a sucka punch (thanks JEN!!!) - what else can you really call it???
Poor Queen Bee had a 100 degree temperature and still stuck it out till the break of dawn - sweating it out with lethally strong concoctions. Kudos!!! She is braver than we could ever be!
And the music! The music... thank you Mr. DJ... whoever you were at the end. You started playing that Dirty Dancing circa 83 grind with your partner music and it got The Agytators + King Texas going wild. So we had to peace out before we tore the place down!!!!!!
With saying that... here are the pics party peoples.
How long have we got... 3 days till Christmas and 9 days till 09'. Like you didn't already know that! :)
Problem is, that I have done ZERO shopping, still got mad work/meetings, and it's SO cold outside my feet froze after 20 mins of walking to my boy's B-day party in BK yesterday.
I keep forgetting how hardcore NYC winters are. Bring back the Summer... or jet me somewhere warm NOW.
We took a shit load of pictures at THE RUB Holiday party which was amazing. A brand new warehouse... over 300 people getting down and merry as D-Nice, Cosmo Baker, DJ Ayres and DJ Eleven put it down.
The pictures from that will be coming soon.
Until then... stay warm and come out to the URB Magazine Holiday party tonight. Just RSVP'd The Retro Kids... they stopped by my b-day party in October so we know they will bring the party.... and so will we.
Also - KEYS N' KRATES will be in the building. We saw them last at the kickoff for CMJ and were BLOWN AWAY. They got so much swag and are truly dope.

The Agytators are:
COCOBLACK and MELLY SHABAZZ!!!
THE AGYTATORScame to be in January 2007. Born out of a meeting of minds from two intense individuals in March 2006, The Agytators lifestyle, brand, movement, ethos and what we represent has taken wings over the past year.
We believe in love for ourselves and each other, the awesome power of women in the arts, the inception of a new class of artist and individual that is not boxed into one craft, but can extend their hands across an array of disciplines.
We believe in creating work that is out of this world in scope, yet real. We live life in the sometimes (not so) fab lane and love it - but moreso than the work, the lifestyle and the freedom to just be, we love you - our supporters around the globe that believe in something greater than themselves and the power of art to crush stereotypes and spark the imagination of those in our generation and the generations to come.
We are Agytators! We bow our heads in reverence to those from our past who have paved the way for us to create and walk freely down a path of our own making. We respect and seek to teach and learn from those that surround us presently. But most importantly, we look to the future so that those that come after us can inherit something greater than we did. We will keep pushing the boundaries and agytating the status quo.
